AVERAGE SIZE: They often grow to between 4 to 6 feet long, including their tail.
MAX SIZE: Some iguanas have been known to grow up to 7 FEET in length.
WEIGHT: An adult iguana can weigh anywhere from 8 to 17 pounds.
NOTABLE FEATURE: They have a row of spines along their back to the tail and a dewlap under their chin which helps regulate body temperature.
FUN FACT: Iguanas have a 'third eye' on the top of their head, known as the parietal eye, which detects changes in light.
